CLI shortcuts
You can use the following CLI command shortcuts:
“Command stacking” on page 807
“Command abbreviation” on page 808
“Tab completion” on page 808
“Using a submenu name as a command argument” on page 809
Command stacking
To access a submenu and one of the related menu options, you can type multiple
commands, separated by forward slashes (
/), on a single line.
For example, to access the
list command in the NTP Servers menu from the
Main menu prompt, use the following keyboard shortcut:
>> Main# cfg/sys/time/ntp/list
Ctrl+b Move the cursor back, one position to the left. You can also use the left arrow key.
Ctrl+f Move the cursor forward, one position to the right. You can also use the right arrow
key.
Backspace Erase one character to the left of the cursor position. You can also use the Delete
key.
Ctrl+d Delete one character at the cursor position.
Ctrl+k Kill (erase) all characters from the cursor position to the end of the command line.
Ctrl+l Rewrite the most recent command.
Ctrl+c Abort an on-going transaction. TIP: Press Ctrl+c when there is no on-going
transaction, in order to display the current menu.
Note: Pressing Ctrl+c does not abort screen output generated by the
cur
command. Press q to abort the extensive screen output that may result from the
cur
command.
Ctrl+u Clear the entire line.
Other keys Insert new characters at the cursor position.
